# 01 · about

Make communication depend on no single line.

As long as our communications depend on a single line and a single carrier, they always carry the possibility of instability. Congestion and bandwidth caps under concentrated demand, equipment failures — and in a disaster, the physical infrastructure itself, base stations and fiber lines, can be damaged and take the means of communication with it.

Technology for using several links at once has long existed to cover this single-link weakness. But it has mostly been limited to proprietary, expensive appliances, within reach of a handful of enterprises and specialist operators and never widely adopted.

Meanwhile, with the spread of NTN constellations such as Starlink, multi-link environments that combine cellular, fixed, and satellite are rapidly becoming a reality. The usable links keep multiplying — yet the means to bind them into one path that stands up to failures and congestion remain closed.

Vortric Labs challenges that status quo. With open source and open internet standards — Multipath QUIC and MASQUE — we are building a stronger, more open communications foundation where anyone can flexibly combine the links they have.

mqvpn

An open-source VPN that combines multiple internet links into one faster, harder-to-drop connection. It uses Wi-Fi, cellular, fixed, and satellite links simultaneously as a single connection — aggregating bandwidth, failing over automatically when a link goes down, and keeping the connection alive as networks change.

Built on the open internet standards Multipath QUIC and MASQUE CONNECT-IP.

The connection stays up when a link drops — and the more links you have, the stronger it gets. Simulated output; figures are illustrative.

A demo diagram of three network links — cellular, fixed line, and wi-fi — feeding one aggregate tunnel. A stacked bar shows the three links combining into more capacity than the best single link alone. The wi-fi link then drops and is marked with a cross: its segment collapses, yet the combined bar stays above the single-link mark, and the session continues with no reconnect and the same address. When the link returns, all three carry traffic again.
